A Gift from Nature

Organic Unrefined Shea Butter is one of nature’s most treasured skincare ingredients. It is traditionally extracted from the nuts of the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa), which grows across parts of West Africa.

Because it is unrefined, it retains much of its natural character, including its rich colour, natural aroma and many of its naturally occurring beneficial components.

Naturally occurring constituents

  • Oleic acid (Omega-9 fatty acid)
  • Stearic acid
  • Linoleic acid (Omega-6 fatty acid)
  • Palmitic acid
  • Arachidic acid
  • Tocopherols (Vitamin E)
  • Triterpene esters
  • Phytosterols
  • Naturally occurring antioxidants
  • Unsaponifiable compounds (naturally occurring plant components that remain after saponification and contribute to shea butter’s unique composition)
